Uganda’s comedy fans have been arguing over who’s funnier, and now the two comedians are settling it on the same stage.
KlaViral has learned Patrick “Salvador” Idringi and Dr. Hillary Okello are going head-to-head in a stand-up showcase called “2 Kings One Mic” on Friday, October 23, at the Kampala Serena Hotel. Both are described as among the country’s most acclaimed comedians, and the matchup grew out of public debate comparing their comedy styles.
Here’s the deal — Uganda Waragi is backing the night through Spirit of Uganda. Roy Tumwizere, Senior Brand Manager for Mainstream Spirits at Uganda Breweries Limited, says the brand celebrates Ugandan warmth and humor and is proud to bring both comedians onto one stage.
Turns out, the brand has history with one of the kings. Uganda Waragi has long supported Salvador’s “Africa Laughs” series, including last year’s Season 7 showcase, which marked his 15-year milestone in the industry.
The night comes with music by Janzi Band, plus curtain-raiser performances before each headliner’s solo set.
Want in? Gates open at 5 PM. Tickets are Shs80,000 early bird or Shs100,000 at the gate, available from Fraine Supermarket or through MTN MoMo.
Two comedians, one mic and a fan debate that finally gets a live verdict — may the funniest man win.
We’ll update if we hear more.
