South African singer Boohle rolled into Kampala and turned a Sunday afternoon into a full-blown Amapiano takeover.
Boohle headlined the second edition of the Don Julio Summer Active Party at 1420 in Bugolobi on September 20, with guests filtering in from 3pm before the whole thing eased from daytime chill session into a full evening rager.
Here’s the deal — by the time Boohle actually hit the stage, the crowd was already warmed up. DJs Dash, Etania, Selector Jay, Sssese, Ames and City Girl had been running the room with Amapiano, hip-hop, R&B and old-school cuts, getting fans singing and dancing well before the headliner showed up.
And when Boohle did appear? She didn’t waste time. Opening to loud cheers, she ran through her catalog — Pillow Talk, Ngibambe Duze, Shela, Woza — with the crowd matching her line for line on Shela, turning one lyric into a full-blown chant-along moment.
Turns out, the tequila kept pace with the music — Don Julio was pouring cocktails and bottles across its Blanco, Reposado, Añejo and 1942 range all afternoon, while an oversized sombrero photo spot became the unofficial main attraction for anyone not glued to the dance floor.

Don Julio’s senior brand manager Judie Nandekya says the partnership with DJ Dash and 1420 is only getting started, with more of these experiences already in the works.
