The UG Yard Party Wants to Turn Kampala Into a Backyard … and Your Car Is a Party Pod

Free entry, LED-lit trunks and a pool table — Uganda Waragi is throwing a Halloween-weekend party and it’s not holding back.

KlaViral has learned Uganda Waragi, with creative partner Josh SB, has unveiled The UG Yard Party, a multi-part party experience aimed at Kampala’s youth party culture. It goes down October 31 at the Kampala Rugby Grounds (the former Legends grounds), from midday until late. And it’s free.

Here’s the deal — the setup is built around interactive Uganda Waragi drinking stations, where drinks are mixed and poured to each guest’s preference.

Turns out, there’s an auto show with a twist. Cars are turned into “mini party pods,” complete with LED-lit trunks and sound zones synced to the main stage DJ sets.

On the music side, the main stage will run genre-blending sets of Amapiano, Afrobeats, new-gen R&B and underground Ugandan sounds. The DJs haven’t been named.

There’s more to do between sets. A Drip & Thrift Zone brings streetwear pop-ups, live thrifting and MC-hosted fit checks, while a Gaming Zone offers VR gaming, classic board games and pool tables.

Uganda Waragi Brand Manager Roy Tumwizere put the idea this way: “Consumers don’t just watch the vibe; they co-create it.”

Free party, drinks mixed your way and a car trunk doing double duty as a speaker — Kampala’s yard party has a very big yard.

We’ll update when the DJ lineup drops.
