In his announcement, Maro got reflective, tracing his journey from a “prodigal son” raised in Nsambya to a musician who had to prove himself in a household where music wasn’t taken seriously at first.
Turns out, the road here wasn’t easy. Maro also opened up about losing friends along the way and said he came close to losing his own life last year — a heavier admission tucked into an otherwise celebratory announcement. He didn’t go into specifics about what happened, but framed surviving it as part of what makes this show meaningful to him now.
